Friends

A friend of mine came to visit earlier this month. I won't call her an 'old' friend because we aren't old. That's a state of mind. But she's been a dear friend since 1972. Long time. I hadn't seen her in about 10 years so I was looking forward to having my 'sister' visit.

The truth is, we picked up right where we left off.

We started talking and didn't stop except to sleep.

We talked about everything under the sun.

Memories that made us laugh..a lot....and those that made us cry.

Friends and family who are with us...and those who aren't.

New experiences we have enjoyed...along with those that have presented challenges.

Our health...and our future potential health.

And of course...new wines.

I would be happy if every single day was as wonderful as this visit.

In fact, I read that as we get older, it's important to spend our time making sure we experience energy, balance and joy in our lives. And we can accomplish that through laughing, thinking and, yes, crying.

I know it's up to me to make that happen this way in my own life.

And my friend's visit gave me a head start.

Thanks, Annie.
